How to Unleash Your Inner Power and Make Your 2020 The Best Year Yet

Already thinking about your New Year’s resolution? Not to be a party pooper, but it is a fact that resolutions, just don’t work.  Studies show that less than 25% of people stay committed to their resolutions after just 30 days, and only 8% actually accomplish them!  Crazy, right?!

So, what’s the secret to creating a more fulfilling happy life?  Here is my proposal…instead of creating a resolution, let’s create solutions!

When you take the time to understand what you want, why you want it, and who will be impacted by it, then, my warriors, you can figure out the solution.

First, let’s get clear.  Sticking to resolutions is not about being motivated or not.  It’s about acquiring the tools to sustain meaningful life changes and being crystal clear on how to create these changes.  Having a sense of clarity can be tricky because you can be clear on wanting to lose 50 pounds, yet be in total darkness when it comes to understanding what triggered you to gain 50 pounds in the first place.

You can be clear on wanting to attract a great relationship, but if you feel undeserving and unworthy of this great relationship, then you won’t be able to sustain it for too long. Remember, how you feel creates a type of energy, and energy has the power to attract or repel. It’s that simple!

Second, be silent and self- aware.  Take time to practice self-reflection and go silent.  Yup. Silent!  We think that by excessive talking, or overthinking, we’ll find the source of our pain.  It’s the opposite. The constant chatting produces a sense of chaos, making it impossible to find solutions.

Therefore, taking the time to self-reflect will create a sense of clarity and peace, both needed to have a truly joyful life, regardless of your circumstances.

As you go within, you will see that your source of true happiness comes within the self, and it does not depend on any outside sources. This then releases you from creating toxic patterns that will not allow for real spiritual growth.

Third, do the work.  If you are having a hard time being with yourself, it’s a sign that something is off and out of balance, and you must do some serious self-work in 2020. Sometimes, we are so afraid to acknowledge our own flaws that we become a source of tremendous pain to ourselves and those around us.

Yes, we don’t like these feelings; we rather not feel them at all. However, these feelings have a lot to teach us, so be courageous and stop running from them.  By allowing all these feelings to coexist, you can decide which ones you want to cultivate and which to release.

“Mindfulness puts an end to such a limited perspective. The Buddha faced his suffering directly and discovered the path of liberation. Don’t run away from things that are unpleasant to embrace pleasant things. Put your hands in the earth. Face the difficulties and grow new happiness.” ― Thích Nhất Hạnh,  The Heart Of Buddha’s Teaching

So, this year instead of making resolutions, commit to finding solutions to your life.  Ask yourself, how many more years do I want to feel defeated, stressed out, anxious, frustrated, angry, and the list goes on?

You can put an end to experiencing a deep sense of loss or emptiness by owning up to what it is that is making you feel this way and then finding the solution in order to stop the cycle of repetition.
